EDI and the WWW

Electronic data interchange (EDI) system; is a generic term that refers to the exchange of data between businesses in digital form.
The exchange is facilitated if the businesses exchanging the information agree on a common format for data interchange, and that is not easy as most business store their data in a proprietary format. Moreover to conduct this kind of data exchange and business transaction, parties implementing EDI system require special computers software and hardware, and are typically much more expensive. While the Internet replace the expensive networks using the same desktop computer to interface with multiple suppliers or business party, which by they easily become able to exchange data using a web-based interface
Simply The World Wide Web has become one of the most widely used information technology, after the Internet put a new face on electronic data interchange (EDI) system
